Drop Shot

The drop shot is played from your backcourt to your opponents forecourt.  It is so that the shuttlecock drops faster than the distance it travels and thus staggers the opponent. The factors of this shot are angle, speed, and air resistance. The angle of the shot allows the shuttlecock to fly high enough to go over the net, and the air resistance slows down the shot so that it lands shallow. There is more vertical velocity in this shot than horizontal because the point of this shot if stagger the opponent by landing shallow in the court, and not travelling far away.
