Smash Shot

Smash Shot

The smash shot is played from your mid court to your opponents mid court. It is done by launching the shuttlecock at a very high velocity and a downwards angle roughly between 120 and 130 degrees. It's velocity is so great that gravity doesn't work fast enough for it to travel a parabolic path. The factors of this aggressive shot are angle and air resistance. The angle allows the shuttlecock to travel straight down so that the opponent does not have the chance to return it, and the air resistance slows down the shot enough that it doesn't travel too far, but keeps the shuttlecock at a fast velocity.
